Potato chip research post #6

I’ve been calling this research the potato chip study.  Actually, it gives valuable information (about more than potato chips) which we can use.  The 120,000+ people who participated in these studies for 20 years gained an average of 17 pounds per person over that time frame.  The foods which contributed most to the weight gain were potato chips, potatoes (especially French fries), sugar-sweetened beverages, unprocessed red meats and processed meats.
But the researchers did not leave us in despair.  They proceeded to tell us what foods a person can eat to lose weight/hold his weight steady:  vegetables, whole grains, fruits, nuts and yogurt.  Hmmm.  Are we hearing this recurring information?  Eat your fruits and vegetables.  Add whole grains, nuts and dairy products to your diet.
