Caffeine --healthy or not?

As the days turn cold and winter settles in, I often find myself looking for a warm, soothing beverage to drink.  Some of my favorites include hot tea, coffee and hot chocolate.  Yummy comfort drinks.  And I am not alone.  Approximately 90% of North Americans enjoy caffeine daily.  What is caffeine?  Caffeine is a plant product which acts as a central nervous system stimulant.  A German chemist (Friedrich Ferdinand Runge) receives the credit for first identifying caffeine in 1819.  Caffeine is found naturally in coffee beans, kola nuts, chocolate and tea leaves. http://www.uhs.umich.edu/files/uhs/caffeine.pdf
What do we know about caffeine??  Healthy or unhealthy?  More next time.
