How does gratitude affect children?

An on-article in Shine from Yahoo shares that “grateful kinds are healthier.”  http://shine.yahoo.com/tistheseason/grateful-kids-healthier-studies-benefits-365-days-thanksgiving-221500657.html

Hofstra University psychology assistant professor Jeffrey Froh finds that gratitude adds mental and physical health to young people.  Benefits Dr Froh reports include better relationships and higher grade point averages.  These young people are less materialistic and they deal with decreased depression and envy.  More information about helping children become more grateful can be found at http://people.hofstra.edu/Jeffrey_J_Froh/spring%202010%20web/Teaching%20Kids%20to%20be%20Gratefull%20All%20Year%202.pdf
