Caffeine overload

We drink coffee and tea to help us wake up and be more alert and energetic.  But too much caffeine can cause a person to feel jittery, nervous, and irritable.  Caffeine overload can cause insomnia, fast heartbeat and muscle tremors.  (Mayo Clinic) If you notice you do not sleep well at night, could you be drinking too many caffeine beverages in the evening?  In that case, you might consider backing off the caffeine gradually.  The Mayo Clinic staff recommends that you decrease by one fewer soda or cup of caffeinated drink or switch gradually to decaffeinated drinks. Sudden cold-turkey decreases in caffeine intake can cause headaches, irritability, fatigue and nervousness.  http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/caffeine/NU00600/NSECTIONGROUP=2

So coffee and tea drinkers, enjoy your java.  If you want to see the caffeine content of popular drinks, check out this website at Mayo Clinic, http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/caffeine/AN01211
