We just returned from a relaxing
fun-in-the-sun six days on Aruba. Let me
tell you a few of the reasons we like visiting Aruba:
Their public water supply comes from
a desalinization plant where ocean water is cleaned and made safe to
drink.
The people are friendly and
helpful. The people who live there learn
four languages in school (English, Spanish, Dutch and Papiamento—the local
dialect).
Tourists are made to feel welcome and
safe. Our resort did have a security
guard who monitored the traffic so non-resort people using the public beach
didn’t enter and use the resort facilities.
But there is no need for a wall to enclose the resort and keep the
tourists safe.
Aruba is out of the hurricane zone
and it is a safe place to visit during the June-November hurricane season.
It’s a gorgeous island country; a
democracy with strong ties to the Netherlands.
