Thankful for a purpose to my day

A purpose to our day.

Life would be boring without something constructive and challenging to make the days interesting.  Do you notice how many people retire—and start a second career?  They get bored and go looking for a fulfilling new job/career.  I have been blessed that I enjoy my job.  I realize not everyone can say that and I am thankful.

Thankful for people in my life

Loving, supportive people in our lives.  I’m blessed by the family and friends who love and support me (and I love and support them).  At the holiday season, I especially want to say thank you to special people in my life.

Thankful for finances for life's necessities

We may never own a fancy yacht or house on the Caribbean Sea.  And that’s ok.  But if we have food to eat each day, a warm shower, a soft pillow and bed to sleep on, we are blessed. (It's a bonus if we have a little extra for vacations to visit those beautiful places.

Thankful for belief in someone bigger than myself

I cannot imagine living life without believing that Someone (my heavenly Father) loves me, watches over me and helps me through good times and bad.  As I was driving my car recently, this song by Matthew West blessed my heart.  The chorus lyrics say this:

“Hello, my name is child of the one true King.

I’ve been saved. I’ve been changed.

I have been set free.

‘Amazing grace’ is the song I sing,

Hello, my name is child of the one true King.”

I invite you to view this video by Matthew West at

I hope you enjoy hearing it as much as I have been.

Thankful for health

Let’s begin with health.  I remember my mother saying you cannot buy health.  That statement is true.  We can spend a lot of money on health care, doctors’ visits, medicines, surgeries, etc, but we cannot buy good health.  If we have good health, we are blessed.
